Fred Rojas

Community Outreach Liaison

Fred received a certificate of training from the AF School of Nursing as a Medical Service Apprentice in 1988. He served over 23 years as a Medic in the United States Air Force, during which he spent 17 years overseas and held management positions in the following sections:

  • Medical/Surgical Unit
  • Health and Wellness Center
  • Family Practice
  • Flight Medicine
  • Obstetrical/Neonatal Element
  • Emergency Department
  • Hospital’s Education and Training Department

Fred deployed 5 times in United Kingdom, Cuba, Kuwait, and twice in Afghanistan. His experience as a Combat Advisor to the Afghan National Army nursing staff in 2006 for a year led to his selection as the MEDEVAC program manager for the Joint Theater Trauma System in Afghanistan in 2010. In addition, he has 18 years experience as certified Emergency Medical Technician and six years as a Training Site Faculty for the Basic Life Support program. Fred’s experience culminated to his selection as the Senior Medic for Vice President Joe Biden during his visit to the United Kingdom. He enjoys travelling, golfing, fishing, and spending time with his big family.
